1. What does YMI stand for?
YMI is read as “Why Am I?”, and we’re the young adults arm of Our Daily Bread Ministries. We’re an online Christian platform for millennials, fostering deeper conversations about everyday life. Click here to learn more about us.
2. Where does YMI get their content from?
The majority of the work on our website, ymi.today, cannot be done without our pool of global volunteer contributors, generously giving up their time and talent to produce articles and artwork for us.
3. I would like to get involved in YMI through writing/creating art. How do I go about doing so?
We’re glad you’re looking to get involved as a volunteer contributor! To get started, do have a read of our writers’ or artists’ guidelines!
4. Does YMI pay for the use of work to go on the website?
We exist because of our pool of volunteer contributors, and we do not offer monetary compensation for submissions. To learn more about our content approach, click here.
5. I would like to republish the articles featured on YMI’s website on my website/blog/printed material. What’s YMI’s policies regarding the republication of work?
If you wish to republish a YMI article on your personal blog/website/printed material, please direct your inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also open to republishing requests from other organizations or news agencies. Each request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
6. I have an article/artwork published on another website/blog/printed material. Will I be able to resubmit the same content to ymi.today for publishing?
We do not republish content that has already been published on another organization’s website/blog/printed material. However, if your article/artwork is off your personal blog/website/social media account, we’re happy to work alongside you to have the content adapted for our website.
7. An article/artwork on YMI has resonated with me. How can I get in touch with the writer/artist to let them know their piece has spoken to me?
There are a number of ways you’re able to let the writer/artist know their work has resonated with you! You can leave a comment at the end of the article on our website, or on Facebook and Instagram. Due to privacy reasons, we’re unable to give you the contact details of our writers/artists, but if you drop us an email at email@example.com, we’re happy to pass on your message to them.
8. How can I support YMI?
We’re grateful for any love gift you’re looking to make as we’re not funded or endowed by any group or denomination. If you’d like to make a donation, please click here if you’re an international donor, or here if you’re based in Singapore.
9. Where can I find our printed resources?/Do you have any resources in print?
We do have selected print resources available in certain country offices. These are our pre-evangelistic Looking At Life resources, and two YMI 30-day Devotionals for James and Philippians. If you’d like to get any of these printed resources, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org to check if these resources are available in your country. Please note that some of these resources are available for a minimum donation amount to help us cover the print costs.
10. Do you charge for your print resources?
We don’t charge for our resources, but appreciate a love gift for the printed materials. Funds raised will enable YMI to continue producing resources for young adults. Please note that both the YMI 30-day Devotionals for James and Philippians are available for a minimum donation to help us cover the print costs.
YMI (which stands for Why Am I?), is a platform for Christian young people all over the world to ask questions about life and discover their true purpose. We are a community with different talents but the same desire to make sense of God’s life-changing word in our everyday lives.
