Knowing who we are and to whom we belong, changes our outlook and direction.

Ephesians Day 10 Quote

The new life God calls us to often feels restrictive.

That’s why Paul doesn’t tell us to “just do it”. Instead, he brings us back first to our newfound identity in Jesus (Ephesians 4:20–21) and reminds us that we have the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and gives us a new mindset.

With our new identity and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can let go of the unhealthy need to prove ourselves and win the approval of the world.

After I became convicted of my double life, I asked God to help me fight my urge to sin. Even though I didn’t always get it right, I am reminded to persevere because of this truth: our being in Christ means that He continues to renew our minds, so that we will learn to desire and choose what is good, and live the holy life He has promised.
